From Grape to Glass – The life of a Winemaker!

• Benvenuto! Welcome!
Begin the morning at the beautiful Vino Con Brio at Amorosa Vineyards (home of Amorosa Inn & Gardens) where participants will be greeted by the Inn’s owners Mike & Renae Matson. Participants will then get a tour of the Inn followed by an introduction to our Winemaker for an overview of the winemaking process and what the afternoon will entail.

• Vendemmia! Grape Harvest!
Then it is off to the vineyard to harvest the grapes where sunshine and fall breezes nourish the soul, as participants release the grapes from their captive vines. Prior to the adventures of the afternoon, participants will be treated to a sumptuous Tuscan picnic lunch paired with Vino Con Brio’s award winning wine.

• Tutto Lavoro! We all work!
The next stop is the winery where participants will get to see first-hand a winery in action. Their winemaking responsibilities continue as participants hand sort and assist with the machine crushing of their grape. Guests will get to taste the sweet juices that will be processed into wine. For those who feel adventurous, a chance to stomp grapes the old-fashioned way will be available.

• Bella Vita! The Good Life!
A day in Lodi is not complete without wine tasting! Guests will have the opportunity to experience wine in different stages of the winemaking process - from the barrel to the bottle. The Matson’s will impart some tips from the trade on basic food and wine pairing so that even the novice winemaker can be an expert at choosing wines for any meal.

• Arrivederci!! Goodbye!
At the end of this day, our apprentice winemakers will board the bus with the wonderful memories of their day in the vineyards and know that they have just experienced what few outside the industry can. The Lodi winemaking experience first hand!
